Welcome to Stepp's Hillcrest Orchard Photography Sessions!

Beginning in 2026, Stepp's Hillcrest Orchard is proud to offer professional photography opportunities on the farm through our photography sessions.

Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Stepp's Hillcrest Orchard provides a uniquely picturesque setting that changes with the seasons—from vibrant spring blossoms and lush summer greenery to rich autumn colors and peaceful winter landscapes. This makes our farm an exceptional location for a wide range of photography sessions, including family portraits, engagement sessions, weddings, branding shoots, artistic projects, and more.

Whether you're planning a photo session with your photographer or you're a photography professional seeking a scenic location for your clients, our photography sessions provide access to one of Western North Carolina's most beautiful outdoor settings.

Our goal is to create memorable photography experiences while preserving the natural beauty of the farm and providing a welcoming environment for photographers, clients, and visitors alike.

General Information For All Sessions

Content Guidelines: All photography sessions must remain family friendly. Nudity, implied nudity, or sexually suggestive content is NOT permitted.

Set Up Guidelines: Prohibited items include but are not limited to fireworks, firearms, or anything that posses a liability.

Tagging Rules For Social Media: In all photos posted on social media by the photographer, we ask that you would please tag @steppshillcrestorchard so we can share your photos with our audience as well! (Note: This is only for photographers, not their clients).

Marketing For Stepp's: We would love if you’d share your photos with us at the ochard for us to use in our marketing at Stepp’s Hillcrest Orchard. If you give us permission to use your photos in our marketing, please email your photos to [email protected]..

Photography Session Disclaimer: Photography session bookings do not grant permission to host events on the property. This includes, but is not limited to, weddings, elopements, parties, receptions, or gatherings of any kind beyond a standard photography session. Clients may not bring additional guests, seating, décor, or vendors (such as officiants, caterers, musicians, etc.) for the purpose of conducting an event

Photography Sessions - Fall

Fall Photography Sessions - All Day Pass

Please Note: Stepp's Hillcrest Orchard provides the location only. We do not provide photographers. Guests are responsible for hiring their own photographer.

You'll have access to our farm all day from 10 am - 5 pm during our business hours! This is not exclusive access to the farm, as our regular guests will be enjoying the farm as well.

Areas of the farm available to use during your shoot:
Entire farm that the general public has access to
Please note: You will be sharing the farm with the general public.

Restroom & Changing Access:
Restrooms will be available at the Apple House (main building).

Parking Details:
Please park in our regular farm parking area. On weekends, there will be parkers to tell you where to park. During the week, you will self park in the main parking lot.

Arrival & Navigation:
Upon arrival, you will need to check in inside the Apple House to get scanned in with your Ticketspice ticket and get your lanyard.

Pay For What You Pick:
You must pay for any crops you pick during your session.

Fall Photography Sessions - Hourly Pass

Please Note: Stepp's Hillcrest Orchard provides the location only. We do not provide photographers. Guests are responsible for hiring their own photographer.

You'll have access to our farm for a 2 hour time slot during our business hours! If you need more than a 2 hour session, you must reserve another time slot. It is $100 for every 2 hours. This is not exclusive access to the farm, as our regular guests will be enjoying the farm as well.

2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you provide photographers?

A: No. Stepp’s Hillcrest Orchard does not provide photographers or photography services. We provide access to our farm as a photography location. All guests are responsible for selecting and hiring their own photographer.

Q: What if there is inclement weather for the date I booked my photography session?

A: If there is inclement weather on the day of your photography session, we refund you 100% of the cost. This will be determined by Stepp’s Hillcrest Orchard on the day of the shoot. You are welcome to reschedule if time slots are available!

Q: Do you offer refunds?

A: Our photography sessions are non-refundable, unless there is inclement weather and we will refund you 100% of the cost.

Q: Can I reschedule my photography session after I have already booked?

A: You can reschedule your photography session as long as we have availability!

Q: Can I book multiple sessions in one day?

A: If you need more than 1 hour for your photography session in spring and summer, you will need to book more than 1 session. Our fall photography sessions allow you to have access to the farm for the entire day during business hours.

Q: How many people can come with me to help out during the photography session?

A: We ask that you only bring one additional assistant during your photography session. If you need more than one assistant, please email [email protected].

Q: Are there any restrictions on what I can bring?

A: Prohibited items include but are not limited to fireworks, firearms, or anything that poses a liability.

Q: How accessible is the orchard?

A: During our spring and summer season, the area where the photography sessions will be taking place is relatively flat. The roads are gravel and the parking area is close by to the photo spots. During our fall season, you will have access to the whole farm which includes areas that could be steep and you would not be able to drive to. Please keep in mind our farm is located in the mountains.

Q: How many people (subjects) can I have at the photography session?

A: When you book your photography session, you will need to indicate the group size. You will choose from single (1 person), couple (2 people), family (3 – 10 people), or a large group (10+ people).
